TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
In 2006 the Residents' Community Association celebrates the Twentieth Anniversary of the opening of the Badger Farm Community Centre. The building was constructed by Sainsbury's in 1986 as part of an agreement with the Parish Council to build a superstore on the site. The Community Centre has gone from strength to strength in that time and, today ,is more popular than it has ever been. We have more than fifty regular hirers and dozens of one-off parties and functions during the year. Booking enquiries are currently being made for 2008!
Badger Farm Preschool Playgroup and Badger Farm Social Club have both held twentieth birthday parties and the Residents' Community Association have undertaken a series of improvements and refurbishments to mark the occasion. In the next few months, carpets will be replaced, hallways repainted and gardens paved. We will be starting 2007 as a spruced up Community Centre!
Keith Taylor, Chairman of the Badger Farm Parish Council, has kindly agreed to visit as many User Groups as he can to take photographs to celebrate our anniversary. These photographs and details of the groups concerned will be displayed on this page. Just click on the thumbnails to display the actual photos. We will also be including articles and cards from the User Groups themselves, so please check back often to read all the news.

The Italic Handwriters send us Christmas greetings HERE and say "For almost half of your 20 years we Italic Handwriters have enjoyed meeting in the delightful surroundings of the Centre and being helped by the ever-willing people there. We are a bit late with our congratulations, so we thought it might make up for that if we were a bit early with a "card" for your 20th Christmas. (A few of us are good-looking enough for mug-shots on the web-site, but not all of us, alas!) We hope you will be amused by the "poem", which is all our own work, both words and writing. To all at Badger Farm - providers and users - Very Best Wishes for the Future, from the thoroughly contented Hampshire Group of the Society for Italic Handwriting."
Winchester Tae Kwon-Do give us a REPORT of their time at the Community Centre. It's nice to know that they feel so at home at the Community Centre and we hope that they have many, many more years with us. Have a look at their 2006 Christmas card....
